Hot, fresh and fast Vietnamese home cooking. I always look forward to coming here when I'm hungry. A reliable spot for a great lunch.

Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Satay Beef Pho

Closest Viet restaurant to my office and home to my favorite spring rolls in Edmonton. The vietnamese spring rolls here are wrapped in rice paper, and when fried creates a rough yet crisp skin. It also creates more surface area so when you dip one of these bad boys into fish sauce, it's party time in yo mouf. My main dish to get here is the Satay beef pho with a large helping of beef and peanuts as well. The broth is flavorful and carries some spice to it. It's definitely a buy and a good addition to SoupSZN.

Located on 111 ave and 101st, this place is busy most days at lunch being just across the street from a hospital. The service is friendly and it's one of the few places that actually refill your water in a reasonable amount of time. If you go here, at least get the vietnamese spring rolls, you'll be happy you did.

Sal says: Just Try It (3.5/5)
Kevin says: Good spring rolls, better company. (It's you, sal. It's always been you)

Great value and they are very generous with the noodles. The house spring rolls are totally different than any I've had before and I really recommend.  Server was fast, friendly and diligent. We were very satisfied.

I was across the street visiting my newborn grandson at the Royal Alex when hunger overtook.
When I walked in, I was greeted promptly and happily.
The service was quick and the food was very reasonably priced.
When our spring rolls arrived, I dug in. THEY WERE DELICIOUS! Filled with pork and not the usual deep fried variety.
The pork chops and rice were moist, tender, and very tasty.
My boyfriend had the noodles with chicken and shrimp.
Well prepared and nothing limp and over cooked.
For the price and the speediness I was delightfully surprised.
I'll be back. Even when I am not across the street.
Thank you to the great people that work there.

Very disappointed and wasted my $12 as I have never had vietnamese food and actually hated it!  My co-workers were going to pick up take-out for lunch so I thought I would try something since they were going.  I ordered the vermicilli with spring rolls and grilled pork.  How can this dish go wrong?

The spring rolls were not crispy but hard as rock, chewing it actually hurt my teeth.  They looked like they were made from the dry rice papers maybe yesterday and then deep-fried again?  The filling contained lots of meat and was way too salty but I needed the fish sauce so it wasn't so dry.  They were cut up pieces and I did not eat them all.

The grilled pork looked good but they too were hard and dry and too salty.  I thought there were too few pieces of meat for the price I paid.  They were also skimpy on the lettuce and carrots, there were no cucumbers but lots of bean sprouts and a fair quantity of rice noodles.

Although I only tried this one dish, I would not think about eating anything from this place again.  I had an upset stomach all afternoon into the evening.
